For the first time, an EVOO from Tunisia (OLIVKO - Olivko Chetoui) is a finalist for the Best in Class "Organic" prize.
Tunisia protagonist in the 2020 edition of EVO IOOC Italy. This year, due to COVID-19, the award ceremony was hosted inside of mobile TV studio and broadcast live on EVO IOOC's Facebook page.
The highly anticipated award ceremony came after 15 days of tastings which involved 25 international judges from 9 different countries.
During the live worldwide ceremony, the work and professionalism of the precious judges of EVO IOOC 2020, including the Tunisian Aida Lazzez, was remembered.
Many EVO IOOC activities in the coming months, all aimed at promoting the winning companies. In fact, the EVO IOOC EVO International Olive Oil Contest will strengthen the winning brands on the international markets, offering unique privileges. EVO IOOC will present the winning products to the most important distributors and importers in the world and the winners will be included in the special guide "EVO IOOC Guide 2021 2022 Buyers Edition" which will be distributed at international events and sent to the most important buyers in the world.
In addition, the president of the competition Antonio G. Lauro said, some of these EVOO will also be used for the Masterclasses and during professional courses on olive oil that will be held in many parts of the world.
The highlights of the contest.
The EVOOs and Flavoured EVOO in the competition were 491, with an increase of 13%. Olive oils entered from as many as 25 countries in the world, divided between the Northern and Southern Hemisphere.
Very rich the general medal stand, which has 405 medals awarded in the two types Gold and Silver.
The awards assigned by EVO IOOC to the Tunisian EVOOs confirm the excellent growth of the olive oil industry in North Africa.
Among all the medals awarded by EVO IOOC 2020, the four Gold and two Silver Medals won with merit by Tunisia take on a higher value. With 10 EVOOs in competition the 6 awards went to Les Quatre Collines - Alta Olea, OLIVKO - Olivko Chetoui, and Olivko Blend, Keb Distribution – Chorbane (Gold Medals). While the two Silver Medals were the prerogative of Majid Slama Olive Grove - Chemlali Primeur and Henchir Karray - Karoliva.
